Coveralls are a big part of what makes engineering fun at Lakehead University, whether through patch trading, B*tch and Stitch socials, and Covies in the Community nights. An Engineer is easy to spot in their white hard hat and navy blue coveralls, and as such, these items are the base of the ESS uniform. They are more commonly used to go drinking; however, they are also suitable for competitions and conferences.
The coverall tradition originated in Scandinavia but ended up catching on in Ontario, and each university has its own coverall colour and style.
You can get your set of engineering coveralls and some starter patches at the ESS office located in UC 0015. The following link is a quick little guide to help you make your ESS coveralls once you’ve purchased the base material.
